Lazarus is a lawyer by profession specializing in corporate law. He holds a Bachelor of Laws Honours Degree, Masters in Business Administration and Diploma in Law (Conciliation and Arbitration) from the University of Zimbabwe. He is currently completing his Master of Laws degree. Lazarus has more than 16 years experience as a legal and corporate advisor in insurance, banking, retail and telecoms sectors. He has worked as Secretary to Boards of Directors of various companies and has extensive experience in corporate governance. He started off his professional career in private practice with Mandizha & Company Legal Practitioners and has held middle and senior management positions in various organizations including NicozDiamond Insurance Limited, Agricultural Bank of Zimbabwe, Infrastructure Development Bank of Zimbabwe and OK Zimbabwe Limited. He is currently the Company Secretary and Legal Advisor of Powertel Communications (Pvt) Ltd. He is a registered Legal Practitioner, Notary Public and Conveyancer and a member of the Law Society of Zimbabwe. He is also an associate member of the Institute of Directors Zimbabwe and a Senate Member of the Chartered Institute of Risk and Security Management of Zimbabwe.
